Here are some more good plastic bag uses. This page has a really nice picture of a rug made from plastic bags. The only thing I don't like is the place they got the bags (see my story-soulight my story so far)  . Anyway , you don't have to get the bags from blankmart.

From     ' The Frugal Life "  an answer to this question :

Q. I need some ideas on reusing the plastic shopping bags we get. I've heard you can weave a rug from them. I'm writing an article about the problems of plastic bags clogging up storm drains and polluting waterways.  I'd like to have some ideas to suggest for people to reuse their bags. Thanks! - Donna Lee

She is so right about plastic bags being polluters . On top of that , animals can get their necks caught in the handles of plastic bags and be strangled. So let's all use the bags to make things and save some animals !

Scrunch them up and dab into wet washes for great texture.
Also, lay them on top of a wet wash and leave to dry -- another great texture trick. If you don't like the results, you can always crumple up the picture, stuff it in the plastic bag and dispose! ;- )

From the  ' Just Mommies " Forum . The advice about turning the bags inside out is a good one , just in case.

Uses for plastic bags
How many plastic bags do you have on hand? How about garbage sacks? Or bread and grocery bags? No matter how much we try, we wind up with an assortment of plastic bags unless we just throw them out, and what frugal person does that??

Being a frugal person with a little green bent, and a hoarder of sorts, too, I cringe when I have too many plastic bags on hand. I just have to get busy and use them up some way.

Caution: Some are concerned that lead MAY be present in the ink/paint used on bread wrappers. I've not been able to find out, but to be sure, don't use bread sacks inside out.

This site not only shows you how to weave a plastic bag rug , it shows you how to make a loom for the project out of cardboard ! I would change the cardboard idea to maybe 2 pieces of cardboard glued together. The rug looks a little saggy to me.  Everyone's a critic.  : )

At Norquest Bags (http://www.badlani.com) in India, we make environmentally friendly reusable fabric bags and sell them around the world. But knowing that many people continue to use plastic bags, we've also found a way to turn them into reusable bags as you can see at http://www.badlani.com/recycle . Read our blog at http://www.badlani.com/blog where you will see how many communities have successfully rid themselves of plastic bags completely.
